T-Mobile Wireless — Making Strong, Lasting Impression on SubscribersKnown as the value leader in cell phone carriers, T-Mobile Wireless plans offer some of the lowest per-minute rates on the market today. Despite this, T-Mobile continues to struggle with static on calls and is battling a higher turnover rate than most similar companies (38 percent) with plans that really do cater to casual users, frequent users, even families, and is currently offering free accessories and free shipping – all in an effort to prove that this company’s service is worth a second look at the T-Mobile phones. And, it appears to be. In fact, T-Mobile cell phone plans are available for a low $30 basic monthly fee. This includes 300 peak minutes, unlimited off-peak minutes and a $.40 charge for additional minutes. Because this can really add up if you spend unexpected time on your phone, you may want to plan for the worst and look more closely at the T-Mobile Get More 300 plan, which is around $60 a month and includes 3,000 minutes total (peak and off-peak), with a $.35 fee per minute for each additional minute. This plan also allows for long distance calls at $.20 a minute, so be mindful of exactly where your plan covers you before you are considered roaming (at $.49 a minute) and before you place a long distance call. Perhaps the best deal offered by T-Mobile USA is the T-Mobile Family Time Plan, which includes two lines and a $10 charge for each additional line. This cellular phone plan is just under $100 a month and includes 800 peak minutes and unlimited non-peak minutes. Roaming is still high at $.49 a minute and $.35 per minute; extra minutes can cause a dent in your wallet fast!
More on T-Mobile WirelessFalling in-between these plans is T-Mobile’s Get More Plus plan for around $80 a month, which includes 1,000 minutes, unlimited off-peak minutes and about the same for roaming and long distance ($.40 per minute for roaming and $.49 per minute for long distance). For about $5 more per month, T-Mobile’s Get More 3000 plan offers an additional 50 minutes a month (for a total of 1,050 minutes), with long distance and roaming fees very similar to those of the Get More Plus Plan. Consumer Reports recently conducted a study of cell phone carriers, and based on feedback of the more than 30,000 participants, T-Mobile phones consistently rated toward the top or mid-range for overall satisfaction, with participants detailing problems such as lack of service, dropped calls, static on the line, busy circuits, etc. Because of its fair pricing, T-Mobile USA is generally ranked closer to the top of wireless carriers for boasting economical calling plans. For instance, when compared to Nextel’s national Get Connected More 600 plan, which costs $56 a month, T-Mobile’ Family Plan, which costs $70 a month is actually a better deal if you consider that a family of four makes an estimated 1,800 minutes of calls per month. Using this as a basis to determine overall monthly cost, the T-Mobile cell phone plan comes out $65 cheaper than the Nextel plan. This is because the T-Mobile Wireless plan includes two phones lines; Nextel’s only one. Additional lines under the T-Mobile plan cost $10 less than additional lines under Nextel’s plan. T-Mobile’s plan also provides 200 more peak minutes. The T-Mobile plan is even slightly less expensive than the Cingular Family Talk 700 plan at $50, because of the cost differences of additional lines and the number of peak minutes offered in the plan. T-Mobile has recently added the revolutionary T-Mobile pocket PC phone to its line of T-Mobile phones, which boasts strong PC capabilities (including a full-color touch screen, Microsoft Mobile 2003 OS, email, PIM, Pocket Word, Excel, Intel processor, 32MB RAM, international phone for travel in over 130 countries and more) making it a perfect solution for the busy executive or even the college student. Other T-Mobile cell phones include Nokia, Samsung and Motorola, all of which come in flip-phone style or the most standard pocket style, and come with a variety of features, including camera capabilities and a T-Mobile ringtone composer, 25 ring tones, downloadable ring time slots or MIDI and MP3 formats/built-in.
