If you can't go to the 2008 Olympics this year but you have a variety of events that you just don't want to miss, you are in luck. Verizon has struck a deal with NBC to bring you all the play by play you can stand if you are a TV, broadband or wireless customer.

Through an agreement with NBC Universal, Verizon will provide everything you want to know about the Olympics (and probably some things you don't want to know) from the convenience of all three of their platforms. Are you interested in the schedules and medals? You can get that information. Are you interested in photos, news, and highlights? You can get that information too.

Just when you thought it couldn't get better, Verizon is also adding four new HD networks. You will be able to get CNBC+ HD, Bravo HD, USA Network HD and SCI FI HD. How's that for a deal? If you already are using FiOS TV you will be able to get these channels in the next few months.

NBC Universal and Verizon are offering the following content to Verizon subscribers:

Video on demand – While the Olympic Games are on, you will be able to get daily highlights and replays of some of your most favored events of the day. They particularly are concentrating on swimming, diving and track and field, but you will have many more.

Broadband – For the games, you will get streaming video for more than 20 different sports and highlights from many of the events. You can also check medal standing. You can also get live and on demand events.

Olympics in HD – You will also get NBC HD channels that are exclusively dedicated to Olympic soccer and basketball. So, if you are a fan of these two sports you won't have to worry about missing anything. You will also get live events and highlights here.

Wireless – V Cast Video will help Verizon customers keep up with what is going on. You'll get daily highlights here as well and results and scores, other features and just about anything else you will want to see.

I don't know about you but I am a big fan of the Summer Olympics. I always hated having to miss certain events because of work. I know you can always use TiVo but in the old days there wasn't a way to record very easily. Now though having the ability to get On Demand and get it on your wireless we won't have to miss anything.

I can imagine people finding little cubbies and such at work to take a few minutes to watch the Olympics. You might even see the boss doing this as the Olympics go further. There were rumors that the Olympics might have to be canceled because of the pollution – well, we all now all know that its not true anymore!
