T-Mobile along with RIM announced the first flip Blackberry phone to be available in the U.S. Flip phone users who also wanted a Blackberry can now have the best of both worlds. The Blackberry Pearl flip is the first of its kind.

All the features that Blackberry users know and love are on the Pearl flip, along with enhancements that come with a flip phone, such as ending calls by flipping the phone closed. Additionally, the flip offers protection for the large internal screen when it is not in use.

The convenient external screen offers call screening as well as quick previews of emails, text messages and reminders.

Mobile phone users in the United States tend to prefer the convenience of a flip phone. With the introduction of the Blackberry Pearl, T-Mobile stands ready to gain a larger market share due to the combination. Users who didn’t want a business looking device can now opt for having a Blackberry and a flip phone at the same time.
