Why Type When You Can Talk - Search the Web with Google I-Phone

Google has done it again, the new Google Search application for the I-Phone allows uses to search the web without touching the keyboard at all, keeping your hands free for more important things like driving.
This new Google Mobile Application is actually an upgrade to the previous Mobile Search tool offered by Google. This version however offers two ways to search: by voice and by location.
Using speech recognition software Google’s Voice Search takes the spoken request and transforms it to text. It then runs the search through the web and returns the results. This app also has a search by location feature that allows the phone to detect your body movements, when the phone is turned on and you bring it up to your ear it detects this and performs a search on whatever you speak.
The location search will also search for the nearby locations of any specific word you speak when in the location search mode. So, if you speak pizza while in location search mode, Googel would return the closest pizza locations.
This saves you the time, you no longer have to specify a city or zip code to find locations. The Google Search Locations must be enabled to allow the Google Mobile Application to access your phone for these searches.
Why Should I
Google’s voice recognition software for searching is one more step in preventing accidents. Even though they shouldn’t there are people who type/text on their cell phones while they are driving. Now, they can tell Google what they are searching for and have it retrieved for them. No more trying to type in where to find lunch while you’re driving.
Google continues to impress with its array of technological inspirations. To be able to search the web with your Google I-Phone application and not have to fumble around on a tiny keyboard is a great innovation and should become a popular one as well. The application is free and can be found at the I-Tunes store.
