Amazing Amazon Does It Again with Mobile App

Amazon has launched its own application for browsing the Amazon catalog online. This amazing free Amazon Mobile application is available at the iTunes link online. While this may seem a bit redundant at first since Amazon already has an iPhone version of the Amazon site, users who install this free application will see dramatic speed increases in using Amazon with their iPhone.
This does explain why the iPhone's Amazon application Mazo was not accepted by Amazon, the online retailer was busy getting its own application ready.
Amazon Mobile as a client application is actually faster than visiting Amazon online from your laptop. Using the application does not require scrolling through long pages of information, instead you link from one page to the next, pushing the previous page out of the way until needed again.
The speed with which Amazon Mobile works makes it a must have when shopping. You can check prices on the fly and even order online if you don’t find a better deal.
Remember the Thingamajig
Amazon Mobile also has an interesting feature called Amazon Remembers. This ingenious little tool lets you take a picture of something you would like to have, send it to the Amazon people via your iPhone and then you sit back and wait for an email message to let you know when they find it. Now that thingamajig you saw on your friends table can be yours in no time, even when you don’t know what it is.
While you might think that using the Amazon Remembers takes a lot of time, not so. In tests using Amazon Remembers, Amazon had an email back to the end user within one minute. The email even contained a link to the product page to order from.
One has to wonder how many people are going to like people taking pictures of their shoes or pants, but who knows in today's electronic world, it just may catch on.
The Amazon Mobile application has the potential to bring about an all out price war. Imagine going into your local electronics store and being able to instantly compare prices on Amazon with hundreds of other retailers.
Stores are not going to want to be losing business to your phone so of course they are going to try to compete. Well, retailers are not going to be too happy, but consumers just might be ecstatic. The free Amazon Mobile app is available at the iTunes store and is well worth the few minutes it takes to download and install. You’ll be naming your own price in no time.
