What Is The Cell Phone Hands Free Headset?

If you want the added freedom of being able to use both your hands whilst still talking on your mobile phone; then a cell phone hands free headset is just the accessory to choose.

The traditional cabled version of cell phone hands free headsets, with their speaker and microphone, can be attached by a cable to the 2.5mm headset jack on your cell phone.

These older type headsets are cheap, and simple. But if the need for a long and loopy wire could drive you well, just as loopy, then you should consider paying a bit more for Bluetooth.

Indeed some cell phone stores and web sites, only sell Bluetooth headsets now. But remember to check that your phone is compatible before you buy, as older ones are not.

Headsets that enable you to go hands free are much more stylish than they used to be nowadays too. They’re much smaller and more discreet. Better microphone technology has allowed for that very long boom to be much shorter too. The earbud style doesn’t have a boom; instead the microphone is either on the cable or on the earpiece.

  • A lot of cellular headsets have a removable ear hook for easy placement on either ear.
  • Many headsets to use with a mobile phone have controls on them too. These can include any of: a volume adjustor; call answering and ending; reject call; a hold / mute button; and last number redial.
  • Most Bluetooth headsets are rechargeable, whilst others draw power from a replaceable AAA battery. The different brands will differ in talk time and standby time, but most boast quite impressive times for both.
  • Some cellular headsets also support voice dialing too. As long as your cell phone does, of course.

So even though you might have the coolest and cutest clamshell phone, sometimes it can be convenient to put it down, and go hands free.
