What Is The Cell Phone Picture Messaging Feature?

First there was voice mail. And then added to the cellular choices came the obsession of text messages. Then next came along the craze of cell phone picture messaging.

Now as well of course, there is video messaging. But using cell phones for picture messaging is still far more popular than this. Because of cost partially, but also because of availability. And the true fact that quite often a snapshot photo can mean more than a brief video clip.

More people for example still use text messaging than anything else, and the new cell phone text-to-speech tech will let you now hear them too if you want to.

But picture messaging has been tremendously popular right from the start. The ability to use camera phones to take photographs is great fun. And cell phone picture sharing with your friends by sending those photos you’ve just snapped to their phones or email is more fun still. More phones now allow for texts and melodies to be added to the pictures too.

Unfortunately though, again as in text messaging, the US carriers were slow to realize the popularity picture messaging would show. And so caused (and can still cause) problems for people to picture message each other cross-carrier.

American teens and other age groups can be left annoyed and frustrated at times, unlike their European and Japanese contemporaries. But this is changing now thankfully, as more flexible service plans make picture messaging easier.

Many cellular plans will let you send more picture messages at a cheaper cost too, but oftentimes you have to pay up front.

Picture messaging can be the coolest way to get some information across, like who’s dating who. But whatever the picture, whether funny or serious, artistic, or not; picture messaging can get the message around.
