September 27, 2005 By: Alison Lelliott Cellular Phone Modem – Stay Connected Almost Anywhere, AnytimeA Cellular phone modem can function as a computer anywhere, so you can stay connected almost all the time. That means you are able to browse the net, check emails, send faxes, download and upload, and make calls. There is no need for wired connections or a seperate modem, because your cell phone acts as both modem and mobile phone. In the last decade, especially in the last few years, we have seen an unprecedented growth in the use of cellular phone modems around the world, as dependence on laptops and the Internet grows. By using a mobile modem, you can have the best of both worlds. Kyocera Wireless And Cypress Solutions Have Launched The Chameleon™ CTM 132 Data ModemAlthough there is hardly any area in the country where these cell phone modems are not available, Kyocera has taken the lead in specializing in the manufacturing of CDMA wireless handsets and devices. Recently Kyocera Wireless Corp and Cypress Solutions, a Canadian provider of industrial wireless data announced the new cellular modem called ChameleonTM CTM 132 using the award-winning Kyocera 200 Module. The company sources believe that the communication world CTM 132 is the first cellular modem of its type which is designed to support a Mobile IP, in that way it helps maintain the same IP address across different network areas and carrier networks. So, it provides a great convenience, ease of use and easy access all the time. You no longer need to change your IP address every time you switch from one area to other. Instead, you just put your login name and password and you are connected within a few seconds. It is generally seen that a cell phone modem performs worse than alternative forms of Internet access, such as DSL and cable connection. However, the CTM 132 cellular modem allows relatively fast access to Internet. A wide range of features are provided by Kyocera's 200 Module including automatic data transmission, higher data speeds, uninterrupted connectivity, and a fixed home IP address.
