V620 Cell Phone PC Card – For Use On Verizon Wireless' High-speed 3G Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) Network
Novatel Wireless, one of the worlds leading wireless broadband access solution providers, and Verizon Wireless, America’s leader in next-generation broadband cell phones technology, have announced the availability of the V620 Wireless broadband cell phone PC Card for use on Verizon Wireless' high-speed 3G Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) network.
By using the V620 PC Card, Verizon Wireless cell phone subscribers are able to access BroadbandAccess, which is Verizon Wireless' premiere data service for business customers. This new service is powered by EV-DO technology which is actually one of the fastest commercially available wireless networks in the United States. This BroadbandAccess service is currently available in 32 major metropolitan markets across the country, and Verizon plans to continue to expand the network during 2005 and beyond.
A Little Bit Technical – But A Whole Lot Simple
The V620 PC card uses dual band EV-DO and 1xRTT technologies. While this sounds fairly technical, essentially what it means is that business customers have access to both BroadbandAccess and NationalAccess – this therefore gives them truly national cell phone data coverage. And it gets better. Because EV-DO technology is backward compatible, it makes it far more cost effective for business customers as they don’t need to reinvest in new technology on a continual basis.
The V620 PC Card comes standard with the Verizon Wireless' VZAccess Manager software. After installing it into their laptops Verizon subscribers are then able to receive access to the fastest commercially available wireless data service in the country. This is great for busy professionals who spend a lot of time on the road by constantly need to download and upload data.
