October 07, 2005 By: Alison Lelliott Accessing Wireless Sports Information – All Thanks To Fox And VerizonFOX Sports Interactive Media and Verizon Wireless have announced that digests of FOX Sports wireless sports information programming will now be made available via the Verizon Wireless V CAST multimedia service. The V CAST system from Verizon Wireless is the first fully fledged 3G wireless broadband service in the United States. V CAST allows Verizon subscribers to view this wireless sport information based content using an upgraded crystal clear graphics engine via Verizon’s Evolution-Data Optimized network. Daily Updates – Direct To Your Cell PhoneAs part of this new partnership, FOX Sports and FOX Sports Net (FSN) programming will be updated daily throughout each day and the content will be made available to the Verizon subscribers. Content will include video clips from “Best Damn Sports Show Period,” “I, Max,” “Beyond the Glory,” a daily national update with “FOX Wire,” plus extensive pre- and post- game coverage and interviews. Clips containing information about premier sporting events will also receive coverage. Verizon Wireless subscribers who are avid sports fans can access the FOX Sports basic video clips via the V CAST system for $15.00 monthly access. This fee is merely added to their regular monthly Verizon Wireless calling plan. They receive all of this up to the minute sports news plus more than 300 daily updated videos clips from leading content providers, such as FOX News, weather, games and music. There are no airtime charges to download or stream V CAST video clips but some of the premium content will attract an additional charge will be billed to the subscriber on an as used basis. V CAST customers can find FOX Sports content on the new 3G-capable VX8000 cell phone with outstanding clarity and sharpness.
