Siemens Music Player Phones - Available Now From O2

O2 has now announced that music downloads will be made available direct to wireless phones, including Siemens music player phones. The operator O2 will exclusively launch a limited-edition Siemens SX1 Siemens music player in the phone.

The Siemens music player phone will allow O2 music fans to have the choice between using the SX1 cell phone that has an onboard integrated digital music player, or a mobile with a separate device that can search, preview, download and play complete music songs across the O2 mobile network.

The cell phone comes complete with a 128MB memory card that is capable of storing up to 128 full-length tracks, and boasts features that include an advanced video and audio player, FM radio and tri-band functionality for global cell phone usage. This phone is ideal for people who travel regularly and are looking to combine their cell phone with a music listening device for efficiency.

The launch of the Siemens SX1 music player follows O2's over-the-air music download service, which was first introduced in 2003 along with the standalone O2 Digital Music Player. The O2 Digital Music Player offers 100,000 full-length tracks via its partnerships with Sony Music, Warner Bros, Universal, BMG, AIM Independents and MTV.

T-Mobile has also unveiled a new range of handsets it is calling Ear Phones, which will allow T-Mobile subscribers the same privileges of downloading and listening to music over the network via the Internet.
