Panasonic Z800 Cellular Phone – Development Of The First UMTS Phone

Panasonic has announced the development of their first Panasonic mobile phone which is designed for use on the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) networks. The Panasonic Z800 cellular phone utilizes the company's leading edge third-generation (3G) technology, which has already been used extensively for the Japanese market.

The Panasonic Z800 cell phone features all of the convenience of video communications using a 3G cell phone handset, but comes bundled in a compact and slick design that is synonymous of the current 2.5G phones. The Z800's 1.3 Megapixel camera comes equipped with a state of the art auto-focusing function and Panasonic's own AV technology which allows users to shoot high quality still pictures with their cell phones and share them via multimedia messaging (MMS).

Panasonic Z800 phones are equipped with a miniSD Card slot, enabling the Z800 to offer a large and expandable storage capacity. This allows users to uploaded photos, images, animations, ring tones and even games and not have to worry about space while doing so. All they need to do is simply swap cards and more space becomes instantly available. The portability of the miniSD Card also allow users to share image files on other AV equipment.

As outlined above, the new Panasonic Z800 UMTS-based cellular phone supports Bluetooth, MMS, USB 2.0 and IrDA. This means that users are able to send photos and documents to PCs or MMS-enabled phones. Bluetooth capability also allows wireless connectivity to the Internet and Email 24 hours a day.
