Mobile Data Cards Mobile Data – Verizon and 3G Are Shipping Novatel Data Cards Around The Globe

Verizon Wireless has announced the introduction of its new Novatel Wireless' V620 EV-DO high-speed mobile phone data card. The V620 mobile data cards use dual band EV-DO and 1xRTT technologies. Users can connect up using the Verizon Wireless' Broadband Access service at around $79.99 per month for unlimited usage. The V620 data card is $99.99 after a $100 rebate and offers customers a rock solid two year customer agreement. Novatel is now the major supplier of laptop cards for Verizon Wireless' 3G data network around the world, linking in to the EV-DO network which is already available in Washington D.C. and San Diego.

Novatel has now received FCC approval to manufacture and supply their new 3G Wireless PC Card – the Marlin U520. The Merlin U520 Wireless PC Card Modem was developed jointly between Novatel and Lucent Technologies and is capable of downloading speeds of up to 384 kbps on a mobile phone. This wireless data card will be supplied for use in Cingular's upcoming 3G trial in Atlanta, US.

The expanded and enhanced performance of Kyocera's EV-DO PC card is due to its in-built dual-band receiver and a high-performance adjustable antenna. This new KPC650 card costs $99 after a $100 mail-in rebate.
