Motorola C650 Cell Phone – Music Phone Handsets May Help Regain Market Share

Motorola's new C650, E398 and E680 cell phones may help to regain market share.Motorola has now announced three new Motorola music phone handsets in an effort to regain some of the market share that it has recently lost of other cell phone manufacturers. These music phones – the Motorola C650 cell, E398 and E680 are ideal for people who want to add a little sound to their cell phone experience.

Motorola’s low-end cellular phone, the C650 mobile phone, is designed to play MP3 ring tones (instead of usually tinny sound that comes through with the old style songs) and camera functionality along with all of the standard cell phone features.

The higher-end cellular phones, the E398 and E680, include all of the regular camera features but also function as MP3 players, although they do have minimal storage capacity. These two models also house the swappable SanDisk flash memory storage cards, which are able to hold around one hour's worth of music.

Motorola is making a concerted effort to serve the growing market for multimedia mobile phones that also play, record, manipulate and store music files. They are releasing these phones in an attempt to gain some market share from companies such as Nokia who have been selling these kinds of cell phones for some time.

Unfortunately Motorola do not have a good track record with releasing new cell phones to the market and so this is an attempt to rectify the mistakes of the past. Considering that the mobile phone market grew 21% in 2004 it is well worth the effort.
