Sprint has launched the first 1.3 megapixel camera phone in the United States enabling its customers to take and print high quality pictures. High-resolution camera phones coming into the market was just a matter of time and with this launch it has become a reality. The Sprint PM-8920 camera phone is manufactured by Audiovox. The aim of the product is to provide additional features in one single product so that customers need not carry heavy cameras along with cell phones. Sprint has fuelled growth in the wireless imaging segment in the United States by launching the first built-in camera phone. The youth segment is the main segment that analysts feel will drive sales. The 1.3 megapixel camera phone has a lot of required features like built-in flash, self-timer and zoom facilities. Other features in the phone include SMS text messaging, large TFT display, standard li-ion batteries that can be recharged, dual band/tri mode etc. The cell phone also has regular features like alarm clock, calendar, task scheduler, calculator, stop watch and the like.
