January 06, 2005 By: Nathan Menzies AT&T Text Messaging – US and MexicoAT&T text messaging service has launched the international text messaging, or to say SMS text messaging between Mexico and United States. This will definitely help a wide network of mobile users in US and Mexico to remain connected with each other. Inaugurating the messages service between North America and Mexico, AT&T officials claim that this newly launched international messages service will help to build a bridge of communication between the two countries. This will help Mexico’s business to grow as the US is it’s main trading partner. It has also got an emotional value as 10 million Mexicans living in the United States can communicate with their family members and friends staying in Mexico by using this international text messaging service. AT&T Wireless is offering text messages to the subscribers at a very affordable price of around 50 text messages if sent within US for only $4.99 per month. That means, a single international text message through AT&T Wireless will cost as little as around $10 per message. Unlike other similar service providers, AT&T Wireless subscribers can receive unlimited incoming text messages at no cost. To make this new text-messaging venture successful, AT&T Wireless has tied up with virtually all-Mexican operators, including Iusacell, Telcel, Telefónica MoviStar and Unefon. This will enable all mobile subscribers in Mexico to send SMS to 20 million AT&T cellular phone users in the US just by typing the country code and the telephone number of the concerned person. AT&T Wireless's reciprocal international text messaging is operational in no less than eight Latin American countries, 24 European countries, and dozens of countries throughout the world. To make this global text messaging initiative successful, AT&T Wireless has tied up with almost 200 mobile operators in different countries across the globe. Being a leader in international text messaging, AT&T Wireless has revolutionized the mobile industry and has made the world much smaller, as far as access and affordable connectivity is concerned.
