What Is The Cell Phone Walkie Talkie Feature?

The cell phone walkie talkie feature has sprung up in recent years as a way for near constant contact through the use of short messaging that runs along the cell phone network.

Think of cellular phone walkie-talkies as a regular walkie-talkie but with the range of your cell phone itself. That means that messages can be relayed back and forth across the neighbourhood, across the city, across the country, even across the world!

These cell phone features are most commonly seen in areas of business on job sites, where individuals can keep in constant contact with one another.

In the business world, on-demand business often leaves people needing this kind of up to the minute constant contact, while these phones are also popular on construction sites where bosses can relay to foremen, who in turn can contact various workers at any given time.

The technology is fairly simple. Each phone comes with its own “code” which, along with a phone number, can be used as a contact for the person who owns the device. After the code is put into the phone, the option is always there to either call the person as a cellular phone caller or to simply hit a button on the side of the cell phone.

This button establishes a connection with the intended caller and allows a short transmission as long as the button is depressed. Once the cell phones button is released the connection is lost. This allows for back and forth single direction transmissions just like a traditional walkie-talkie.

Cell phone walkie-talkies can also be a great way for friends to stay in contact with one another, and, aside from video games and picture editing, can be one of the best ways to have fun on cellular phones.

For one thing, a cellular phones walkie-talkie transmission often comes through very loud over the speaker on the phone itself as opposed to the receiver on the cell phone. This means that any loud or obnoxious noises sent via the phone walkie-talkie transmission can be heard not only by the person with the phone, but by anyone standing in close proximity to the user.

This feature can also be used by families who go shopping in different parts of the mall (or city, for that matter, or even the country) over the holiday season or any time parents need to get in touch with their kids. As long as the cell phone line is free, a cellular phones walkie-talkies can put a person in contact with another person.
