What Is The Cell Phone Ringtones Feature?

Cell phone ringtones are noises used to indicate incoming calls, messages, or other important notices on your cell phones or mobile wireless handsets.

A cellular phone ringtone is much the same as any type of telephone, be it a “land line” or satellite phone. Every time you receive a call, your batteries are about to die, or you get an incoming message, the noise emitted by your cell phones or mobile wireless handsets is a cellular phone ringtone, letting you know that something is up.

These days, cellular phone ringtones do so much more than that. They are also a selling point for many cell phones. Cell phone carrier companies such as Cingular provide users with the ability to download hundreds of different ringtones from the cell phones manufacturer, ranging from traditional analog ringtones (think your grandmother’s giant black phone) all the way down to ringtone versions of rock, country and classical music spanning the last 50 years. Other cellular phone companies such as Nextel Wireless also provide similar options for their clients.

Of course, a cellular phone ringtone costs money when you download it, for the most part ranging from 25 cents per download up to $1.00.

It is very easy to download these ringtones for your cell phone or mobile wireless handset, especially when you don’t have to think about the charges until you get your cell phones bill.

Be forewarned! Many people end up with very large cell phone bills the first time they get access to these customizable features. These cellular phone ring tones are obviously a great feature that make owning your own cell phones even more fun, but don’t forget that each new ring will probably cost you some cash.

The newer generation of cell phones from companies such as Sony Ericsson Cellular have developed the technology behind the cellular phone ringtone even farther than previous generations. Now, some phones come with the option of having full stereo sound rings and other drastic aural improvements.

This is an important step, as one day soon cell phones will be broadcasting streaming live video and other things once the domain of desktop PC’s. If you’re going to be watching videos and movies on your cellular phone, you’re going to need good sound.

What better place to start those steps than with a high quality cell phone ringtone?
