What Is The Cell Phone Picture Messaging Feature?

Cell phone picture messaging is a form of SMS (Short Message Service) that allows for the transmission of pictures or other compatible graphic files from one cell phone to another.

Cellular messages were one of the first features that popped up in cell phones a few years ago when digital camera phones first hit the market. For the first time, cellular phone users could take photos from their cell phones and send the pictures to another cellular phone user in lieu of traditional text messages.

Hugely popular these days, cellular picture messaging is now a main selling feature for most brands of cell phones, from Sony Ericsson to the next generation of Kyocera phones. Some wireless phones even come with photo editing capabilities that let you crop or even add things to pictures before they are sent off.

If you want to save them, cell phone picture messages can be used to send pictures to your nearest email storage box. Once on the computer, they can be easily downloaded and either printed off or stored in your computer.

Of course, with things like memory cards for cell phones that can be dumped into printers and other forms of media, that kind of traffic to your email box may not even be necessary.

Cell phone picture messages don’t strictly have to send photographs, however. You can also send low-resolution jpeg graphic files or any other type of graphic file that is supported by your cell phone. In the future, this will increasingly be a way for companies to send things such as electronic business cards, schematics (that could easily be printed off!) and other similar business-related information.

If you would like some more information on cellular phone picture messages or any other related cell phone feature, simply head down to your nearest cellular phone display booth or retail store. No matter where you go, you’re sure to run into friendly staff eager to give you a hand.
