What Is The Cell Phone Camera Feature?

The cell phone camera is the latest “big thing” when it comes to cell phones and wireless handsets in North America – and with good reason.

Cell phone camera features essentially mix the image capture capabilities of a digital camera with your cellular phone or wireless handset. Mainly, this involves adding an auto focusing iris and megapixel digital “film”, as well as the proper amount of storage space to allow you to keep your images once you have taken a picture.

In much the same way a standard “point and shoot” digital camera feature works, your cellular phone can be used in a pinch to take pictures of all kinds of interesting things.

People in the cellular phone industry see cell camera phones as the first step toward the complete integration of all sorts of great features for your cell phones. One day, you may be able to take a picture, digitally edit it an post it on the web via your cell phone's web browser, or scan and email it to your friends and family with built in e-mail service, or you will be able to send it to a print shop for professional printing with a phone call.

Not to mention the fact that you will soon be able to hook your cellular camera phones up to the next generation of home printers and print off your own copies at home.

Leading the charge with next generation cell phones, cameras and features, are cell phone companies like Nokia, Sony Ericsson, and LG, who are competing with each other to bring out the newest big wave of cellular cameras and cell phone related wizardry and features.

Although at the moment the quality of a cell phone camera picture may be poor compared to full blown digital cameras, that will change as the technology becomes cheaper and easier to use. Cell phone companies are already talking about one and two megapixel camera’s so small that they easily fit inside the body of your cell phone.

There has been some controversy around cellular phone cameras and their infringement on the rights and privacy of others. This has lead to several types of cell camera phones being banned in public places such as public change rooms and at schools where children are prevalent.

Common courtesy and etiquette tells us that this kind of behaviour is unacceptable in today’s society, but as usual there are those people who would rather exploit a new technology for their own gains rather than simply enjoy it.

In the future, the use of these cell phones and handsets will no doubt be closely monitored so that no one’s rights or freedoms are trampled on.
