The cell phone call restriction feature is used when someone calls you and for whatever reason you don’t want top talk to them. They can also be used to block outgoing calls from your cell phone.

Cellular phone call restriction is a feature that many cell phone companies such as Verizon, AT&T, and Liberty Wireless use to help their customers avoid those calls. All you need to do is contact the service provider, either through your cell phone or directly over the phone, and request that a specific number be blocked from being able to call.

For many people, cellular phone call restrictions come in the form of annoying telemarketers or other marketing related people.

Although a “do not call” request must legally be taken by these companies when asked to do so, they are often mislabelled or take a long time to be processed. In the meantime, the company is free to call and provide your cellular phones number to other companies!

A cellular phones call restriction feature is also an important deterrent for people who would harass or bother cell phone users. For example, persistent prank callers who call the same cellular phones number over and over again either with malicious intent or for their own amusement, can be blocked from calling.

Ex-flames, either spouses or boyfriends and girlfriends, can also be blocked if the cell phone holder feels threatened or harassed by them. When relationships go bad, sometimes it takes a while for one of the party’s involved to get the hint and move on.

Another form of call restriction works the other way.

You can set your cellular phones call restrictions to make sure that no long distance calls are made from your cell phone. This is especially handy if you have a lot of different people using a single phone or if children are involved.

Children don’t always make the best judgement calls with regards to long distance calling, and may not fully appreciate that you have to pay extra for every long distance minute used. With a cell phone call restriction provided by cellular phone companies such as LG, Mitsubishi, and Motorola, you need never worry about a shocking cell phone or wireless handset bill again.
