November 26, 2004 By: Bill Schnarr What Is The Cell Phone Alarm Reminder Feature?A cell phone alarm reminder can be a great way to get some extra use out of your cell phone. With the cellular phone alarm reminder you can turn your cell phone into an alarm clock, a way to never miss important events and/or calls, and a safety device for you or your children. There are a couple ways your cellular phones alarm reminders can work. The first is the built-in alarm reminder that works much like a standard alarm clock. Companies like Motorola, Samsung, and Audiovox add features such as cell phone alarm reminders in order to entice prospective customers into buying their handsets. With this version of a cell phone alarm reminder, you just set the time for the cellular phones reminder to go off and you are all ready to go. You can set your phones reminder to display a cellular text message on your cell phone screen or you can just let it ring. This can be a great way for you to keep tabs on your children. Simply pre-program your messages into their cell phones such as “call home now” or “curfew in 20 minutes” and send your child on their way. With this cellular tool, parents can keep tabs on their kids and their children will be reminded of their obligations to their parents. On special outings such as Halloween cellular phone reminders can be especially useful for children going out trick or treating without their parents. Not only will the cell phone allow them to call in the case of a jam, but reminders can be pre-programmed before the child leaves the house. The second version of a cell phone reminder works with computer software in order to better serve you. Again, this is a service that can be utilized by a person using any kind of cell phone, from LG to Nokia to Sony hand sets. By downloading the necessary cellular software on your computer you can simply type in your message and the time you need the reminder on your computer and the software will do the rest. At the appointed time, your computer will call your cell phone with the reminder as a text message or even a pre-recorded voice message. You need never miss an important event again.
