November 20, 2004 By: Nathan Menzies Kyocera Camera Phones — Next Generation Video And MoreKyocera is known for its cutting-edge design but until now there were no Kyocera camera phones available in the US. The Koi KX2 Camera Phones are compact wireless phones that swivel open to reveal some pretty big features. The Koi KX2 is a Kyocera camera phone that starts where other leave off. With a 1.2 megapixel camera, built-in flash and digital zoom you can take clear digital snapshots that can be printed as 4 x 6 inch photographs. You can also use the camera phone to take next generation DVD-quality MPEG-4 video clips. The cameras 16 MB memory lets you store up to 120 pictures. Kyocera’s attention to design is evident in the KX2 camera phone. Snap open the camera phone lens cover and the camera automatically comes on. Press the Kyocera key on the face of the KX2 camera phone and start taking pictures. Switch to video mode and you can take 15 second video clips with sound. The MPEG-4 compression technology keeps the cameras clips small, so that you don’t burn through your Anytime minutes when you share your clips using Multimedia Messaging Service. Once you take your camera phone pictures you can store them in the Media Gallery. There’s enough room for 120 low-resolution snapshots or 40 high-resolution pictures. You touch up cell phone photos, give them an old-fashioned look with the sepia feature, add frames or borders and put camera phone pictures of your friends in your phonebook. While you can take pictures with the KX2 closed, it really comes to life when you swivel it open. The phones picture on the display automatically rotates as you twist open the face, so that it is always in correct viewing position. Twist it closed and you can still navigate through the menus using the jog shuttle button on the side. The Koi KX2 is ready to match your expectations, no matter where you live, from West Jordan, Utah to Hopewell, Virginia or even Ellensburg, Washington.
