PDA Camera Phones – The World In the Palm Of Your Hand

Imagine being able to stop and send an e-mail wherever you are, connect to the office network, view the latest sports highlights, take a picture of an associate and add it to your phone book—all with one pocket size device. These are just a few of the things that PDA camera phones let you do.

Short for “personal digital assistant,” a PDA camera phone is a palm-sized computer combined with a camera and a mobile telephone. PDA phones use the popular Palm OS or the Microsoft Smartphone operating system, giving you access to thousands of downloadable applications. You can transfer documents to your PDA phone, work on them and transfer them back to your computer.

PDA phones like the Treo 600 for Verizon Wireless come equipped with a VGA camera that takes clear digital snapshots that can be sent to other camera phones using multimedia messaging technology. The pictures that you take with the Treo can be added to your address book for picture caller ID.

The Treo camera phone has a built-in QWERTY keypad to make text entry easier. Other PDA cell phones, like the Samsung i600 don’t have a full text keypad but they can be used with compatible full-sized keyboards.

PDA cell phones are more than cameras with a computer attached. They are full-featured cell phones as well. You can supplement telephone functionality with any number of accessories. These accessories might include a travel charger, if you're on the go, a speakerphone, if you're looking for hands-free comfort, and an attractive leather holster to help protect your free phone.

With the memories that can be captured and entry-level pricing, it's no wonder that phones with built-in digital cameras are becoming very popular.
