Affordable Phone Cameras — Everyone Can Own One!

When cellular phones were first combined with digital cameras the prices were astronomical. Today you can find affordable phone cameras from Verizon, T-Mobile, Cingular and other carriers. Special online promotions make it possible to find camera phones as low as $29.99. With prices on camera phones this low it won’t be long before just about everyone has one.

When shopping for an affordable phone camera it’s important to think about the types of pictures you like to take. If you are mainly interested in taking digital snapshots to put in your mobile phone’s address book or to share with friends on their cellular phones, then a VGA camera with 310k pixel resolution is perfect for your needs. VGA pictures look great on electronic devices like phones and computers but they don’t always make clear prints. Camera phones with 1.2 megapixel resolution like the Motorola V710 tend to be more expensive but they can produce photo-quality 4 x 6 inch prints.

Because of their compact size, cellular phone cameras don’t have adjustable lenses. This makes it difficult to take pictures in low-light conditions unless the phone has a built-in flash or movie light. Another thing to look for is one-touch picture sharing, a feature built into some Sony Ericsson camera phones.

While the camera is the main attraction of a camera phone, don’t overlook the fact that it is a mobile telephone. When you’re shopping look for deals on faceplates, desktop chargers, vehicle holders and other accessories that make your wireless phone easier and more enjoyable to use.
