Best Camera Phones — Designed To Capture The Moment

When camera phones were first introduced, most experts thought they wouldn’t catch on. Now every cell phone manufacturer has at least one camera phone in their lineup—proving the experts wrong. The best camera phones on the market have cameras capable of 1.3 megapixel resolution. These camera phones take photos that can be printed as 4 x 6 inch enlargements. Within the next year or two several cell phone manufacturers plan on introducing phones with a 5 megapixel camera built-in.

When shopping for the best camera phone it’s important to look for features that will give you the most for your money. Because of their compact size, cellular phone cameras don’t have adjustable lenses. This makes it difficult to take pictures in low-light conditions unless the phone has a built-in flash or movie light. Another thing to look for is one-touch picture sharing, a feature built into some Sony Ericsson camera phones.

Multimedia messaging technology is a service that lets compatible phones send and receive digital pictures. Phones from T-Mobile and other carriers have templates or photo frames that let you add text to your pictures, turning them into a kind of digital greeting card.

Memory is something else to look at when you shop for camera phones. Most camera phones have enough memory to hold around 20-30 digital pictures—roughly as many pictures that fit on a roll of film. Some phones, like LG’s VX7000 have enough room for 200 pictures. You can transfer you pictures to your computer by sending them to your e-mail address or by connecting your phone with a USB data cable.

Because they are easy to use and always close at hand, camera phones are catching on all across the country, from places like Appleton, Wisconsin all the way to Casper, Wyoming and Aberdeen, Washington.
