November 09, 2004 By: Genevieve Richards ATT Wireless Go Phones — Nothing To Hold You Down
ATT joined Cingular in 2004 to give users the combined benefits of the two leaders in mobile technology. ATT Wireless Go Phones give users the best of traditional plans combined with the freedom of a pay-as-you-go plan. ATT Wireless Go Phone plans give you a variety of contract-free services that you pay for on a month-by-month basis as you use them. First is the GoPhone plan. This works like a standard wireless calling plan with a monthly allotment of free minutes. GoPhone plans have options for mMode download service and unlimited night and weekend minutes. When you go over your allotted minutes on your cell phone, extra minutes are billed at a low per-minute rate. The difference between GoPhones and a standard plan is that you aren’t locked into a restrictive contract. There’s no credit check and no cancellation fee. With ATT GoPhones you can get the same great phones as on a standard plan—phones like the Nokia 3200. The translucent case and unique toggle-action keypad tell you this cell phone is all about style. The 3200 is instant message capable and has a built-in digital camera. With Free2Go plans you pay ahead for the wireless minutes you plan to use. When you run out of minutes on your prepaid phone you need to buy “refill” minutes before you can call. This way there are no surprises at the end of the month. Free2Go prepaid phones come in a limited selection. The latest in pay-as-you-go service is Ogo unlimited messaging. For a low monthly fee you can send as many e-mail, text or instant messages as you want, using the Ogo handheld messaging device. The clamshell unit opens to reveal a large display and a QWERTY keypad. The Ogo does not have phone capability. Wherever you go, from Claremore, Oklahoma to Beaverton, Oregon or even Lancaster, Pennsylvania, ATT Go Phone plans give you more freedom. For more information, see ATT Wireless com.
