Sprint PDA Phones — Smart Devices For Smart Shoppers

If you’re like most people you’ve come to rely on your personal computer as an all-in-one information center. Wouldn’t it be great if you could take that information with you on the road? That’s the promise behind Sprint PDA phones billed as “Smart Devices.”

PDA stands for personal digital assistant, a term used to describe palm-sized computers that can do many of the tasks a desktop model can do. The Sprint PDA phone Smart Device line has a full selection of PDA phones to choose from. At the top of the line is the Samsung SP-i600, featuring the Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 operating system. The OS gives Windows users a familiar look and feel, while supporting favorite applications like Microsoft Outlook.

The most popular PDA operating system is Palm OS and Sprint doesn’t forget Palm users. The Treo 600 by palmOne is a feature-packed cell phone that integrates Palm OS 5.2. A built-in QWERTY keyboard makes text entry easy for phone users who don’t have the hang of Palm’s Graffiti method for handwritten text entry. The Treo 600 has a digital camera for taking still pictures and video clips.

Both of these wireless phones can connect to a personal computer using a USB data cable. They also both have SD I/O expansion slots for optional Bluetooth or WiFi cards allowing wireless connection to computers or networks.

At the lower end of the phone Smart Device line are two cellular phones with slightly earlier operating systems. The Samsung i500 phone uses Palm OS 4.1 and the Toshiba 2032 uses Pocket PC.

Sprint offers a range of PDA-related cellular services to help phone users connect whether they are in Orem, Utah, Danville, Virginia or even Bainbridge Island, Washington. Sprint PCS Vision Business Connection lets users access information on their corporate network, getting the most out of their Smart Devices.
