Cellular Flip Phones — Small Size, Big Features

Sleek and stylish, it’s hard to imagine that today’s flip phones combine the functions of an electronic organizer, a camera, and a photo album all in one tiny package. Cellular flip phones don’t hold back on cell phone features. These handsets flip-open to become a full size wireless telephone, and then fold back to protect the keypad and display.

A cellular flip phone can have a flip-open protector that covers the keypad, protecting it from damage. Newer designs of flip-open cellular phones, sold by Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson and other companies, allows the cell phone to fold completely in half. This design protects the cell display as well as the keypad.

Most cellular flip phones conceal a large high resolution color display that lets you view pictures and play games in full color. Many types of flip telephone have a liquid crystal display on the outside of the case that shows the date and time, along with caller ID, available with most calling plans. Some phones have a color display on the outside as well—ideal when the phone lets you setup picture caller ID!

You might not know it because of the small size, but many wireless flip phones include digital cameras. Combined with multimedia messaging technology these phones can send and receive pictures—perfect for people who have friends and relatives in far-flung places like Hueytown, Alabama, Phoenix, Arizona or even Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

You can dress up most flip phones with custom covers or tailor made leather cases. For handsfree use, add a retractable headset or speakerphone module. Most of the new flip phones even connect to your personal computer with an optional USB data cable, letting you share information between your phone and PC. Flip phones may be small in size, but they certainly don’t skimp on features.
