Wireless Flip Phones — Good Things In A Small Package

What is small enough to fit in your hand or slip in a pocket, and yet combines the functions of an electronic organizer, a camera, and a photo album all in one tiny package? Wireless flip phones offer a full range of cell phone features in a small package. These handsets flip-open to become a full size wireless telephone then snap shut to protect the keypad and display.

The “original style” flip phone is similar to the upright design of traditional cell phones. The flip-open protector prevents damage to the keypad. Sometimes a microphone embedded in the flip, making it closer to your mouth.

Another design for flip-open cellular phones, sold by Audiovox, LG, Sony Ericsson and other companies, allows the phone to fold completely in half. This design protects the display as well as the keypad.

Most cellular flip phones have a large high resolution color display that lets you view pictures and play games in full color. Many types of flip telephone have a liquid crystal display on the outside of the case as well. This display shows the date and time, along with caller ID, available with most calling plans.

More and more wireless phones are including digital cameras. Combined with multimedia messaging technology these phones can send and receive pictures. Some flip mobile phones even let you setup a picture caller ID! Photo sharing is a must-have technology when you have friends and relatives in far-flung places like Hoover, Alabama, Peoria, Arizona or even Paragold, Arkansas.

Flip-open wireless phones can be accessorized with a full range of add-ons. You can dress these phones up with custom covers or tailor made leather cases. Add a retractable headset for handsfree use, a cell phone strap for style and security. Most of the new flip phones even connect to your personal computer with an optional USB cable, letting you share information between your phone and PC. Who says good things don’t come in small packages?
