Cellular Phone Comparisons — Getting The Most For Less

When you think of all the things that today’s mobile phones can do, it’s amazing how inexpensive they are. Imagine what you might have to pay for a calculator, stopwatch, personal organizer, address book, and a digital camera if you wanted to buy them separately. And imagine how much space they would take up! Wireless cell phones are the thinnest, lightest and cheapest they’ve ever been. Yet they pack in all the functions mentioned above. When making cellular phone comparisons it’s important to weigh the features you will use most often.

Do you like to keep in touch with a large group of friends? Look for a cell phone that supports text messaging or AOL Instant Messenger. Want to capture precious moments of a child’s first years? A wireless cell phone with a built-in camera is the perfect choice.

It’s important to do side-by-side feature comparisons between different cell phone manufacturers. Audiovox, Motorola and Siemens cell phones all have different combinations of high technology, cutting-edge style and usability. When making a comparison of the various cellular phones on the basis of features don’t settle on just one cell phone from a single manufacturer. When you shop online you’re bound to find some great promotions and deals. It pays to leave yourself a number of choices.

Once you've completed your comparison of the different mobile phones on the market, be sure to compare calling plans. AT&T, Nextel and Voicestream Wireless each has its own rate plan. If you have relatives spread between Athens, Alabama, Apache Junction, Arizona and Arcadia, Louisiana, look for a nationwide plan with no long distance charges. Consider what additional services you might use, such as Multimedia Messaging Service for sending pictures, and compare the costs for these add-ons.

Once you know the features you want and know the differences between rate plans in your area, look for special deals online. Who knows, during your comparison shopping evaluation, you might find the phone you want…or a very similar phone being offered as a web only give-away!
