Cellular Phone Effects – Is It A Matter Of Health

There’s always been a debate over cellular phone effects on human health. Now a new research study at a university in Sweden has brought the debate back to the forefront. According to the study, there is a link between cell phone exposure and brain damage in rats. So the questions is, could cellular phone effects be the same in humans?

Leif Salford, a neurosurgeon at Lund University in Sweden, studied how radiation from cell phones affects rats. Cell phones are known to emit low levels of electromagnetic radiation and during the study, radiation from GMS cell phones hooked to the side of cage of rats appeared to have affected the rat’s brain tissue.

Blood vessel and neuron damage in the brain is what the cell phone’s effect on the rats included, and the effects were more severe with increased levels of exposure to the cell phones. Scientists around the world are working to see if the effect of cell phones on rats can be replicated in additional studies. Even if the results are replicated it will not necessarily prove that cell phones affect humans in a similar manner.

To date, no study has definitively linked cell phone radiation to human health hazards, but on the other hand, no study has proven that cell phone effects on human health are entirely benign. So the debate continues over whether or not cell phones affect human health.
