Wireless PC Phones – From HP and T-Mobile

HP and T-Mobile have combined forces to bring a new wireless PC phones to the market. This new phone will allow mobile users to make calls and have high-speed Internet access all from a fully functional pocket PC. The two companies collaborated closely on development of the PC wireless phone. The new HP iPAQ h6315 Pocket PC has all the features you’d expect in either a phone or a pocket computer.

Loaded with new technology, the new wireless pc phone has GSM global technology, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functionality, enabling users to communicate quickly and efficiently via phone, Internet or text messaging. The wireless phone uses T-Mobile’s GPRS network for speedy Internet connections and in areas where it is available, the phone will automatically switch to T-Mobile HotSpot Wi-FI service.

The PC features of the wireless iPAQ h6315 include 64 MB of data storage capacity and an easy to use QWERTY keyboard. The pc phone uses Microsoft Windows 2003 Mobile Phone Edition software.

The HP iPAQ h6315 Pocket PC is the first all-in-one wireless device to include GSM global phone capabilities, however, it certainly won’t be the last. Technology experts expect other companies to introduce similar wireless pc phones in the very near future.

T-Mobile will be the exclusive vendor of the phone. The iPAQ Pocket PC is available in the US for $499 with a T-Mobile service contract.
