Cellular Phone Services – Choosing The Right Provider

As a cell phone user, you are a hot commodity to companies who provide cellular phone services. Knowing this beforehand, you can use it to your advantage. They want your business, so sit back and let them woo you with their best cell phone service deals.

Okay, choosing the best cell phone service may require more than just sitting back. You do need to think through what kind of cellular phone service you’re looking for. Try this simple exercise:

  • 1. Think about the phone calls, both cellular and landline, you have made in the last few days. Write down the location of every person you called.
  • 2. Write down the time of day or night when you made those phone calls.
  • 3. Then write down the number of minutes (or hours) you spent talking on the phone.
  • 4. Ask yourself if the last few days represent your typical phone habits.

Using this information, along with your monthly budget for cell phone service, write your personal cellular phone services statement. It will look something like this.

I make calls to Chicago, Atlanta and the entire state of Wyoming so I need a cell phone service plan that will let me make calls without roaming or long distance charges. I want the best rate possible for phone calls made between noon and 4:17 p.m. and I need 5,000 minutes each month. For this cell phone service I am willing to spend up to $37.52.

Once you’ve answered all of the above questions, it’s time to find the cell phone service providers in your area. Tell them what you need and ask them to show you their best offer.
